National Day of Civic Hacking was a national event that took place June 1-2 in cities across the nation. The event brought together citizens, software developers, and entrepreneurs to create new, interesting applications focused specifically on improving the local community.
Team CitySourced was out in full effect over the two day Hackathon event. In addition, our close technology partner, Esri, was there as well to demonstrate it’s GIS and mapping technology, which is in use in the CitySourced app.

Hack for LA took place at the Boyle Heights Technology Youth Center near downtown LA. The neighborhood is the former home of will.i.am. Check out his shout out for the event.

CitySourced was on hand to support the developer community, discuss how we test our native mobile apps, and get involved in working together to improve our society. It’s very exciting for us to witness and participate in the growing trend towards civicly-minded technology startups.
